The interactive dance "Charming Light" performed by two foreign dancers kicked off another large-scale international culture exchange event. On December 4th, the 2020 "Focus on Zhejiang" International Culture Exchange Week (hereinafter referred to as "Week") sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism was launched in Shaoxing, an ancient city that is well known for its rich cultural legacies.
The 2020 "Focus on Zhejiang" International Culture Exchange Week is scheduled to fully display the achievements of international culture exchange in Zhejiang and to build a cultural exchange platform for people all over the world to better understand Chinese culture and Picturesque Zhejiang.
Seven institutions in Zhejiang awarded the provincial international culture exchange base
At the opening ceremony of the Week, seven institutions were nominated "Zhejiang Provincial International Culture Exchange bases". They are China National Silk Museum, Wuzhen Scenic Spot, Zhejiang Wanli University, Yiwu Jimingshan Community, Zhejiang Normal University, Wenzhou Overseas Publicity Center, and The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City.
According to the organizers of the event, more than 50 high-standardized international culture exchange bases will be built in Zhejiang by the end of 2025.
31 foreign nationals won the title of "Picturesque Zhejiang" Friendship Ambassador

As time goes by, Zhejiang has become increasingly open, enthusiastic, and energetic, and more and more foreign people come here to live, start their business, and initiate a new chapter for their life.
At the opening ceremony, 31 foreign nationals were awarded the "Picturesque Zhejiang" Friendship Ambassador certificates. The famous Japanese historian Shio Tanaka expressed his feeling in a video clip upon learning that he had become the friendly ambassador of "Picturesque Zhejiang". He said, "Japanese history and culture cannot be separated from the history and culture of Zhejiang. It is history that led me to this place. ...I hope that our events can provide rich exchanges for the next generation and people in the future and let's work hard for this."
During this Week, Chen Shenglai, a senior researcher at the China National High-end Think Tank of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Hui Zhang, deputy director of the Expert Committee of the World Tourism Cities Federation, Huailiang Li, a professor at the Communication University of China, and Wei Lin, an associate professor at the School of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University made keynote speeches on suggestions of creating unique international culture exchange and communication system that focuses on cultural identity and international communication. At the same time, the scholars also share opinions about the opportunities for Zhejiang to become the "window" that can showcase the high-quality tourism development, international communication trends, and how representative intellectual properties of urban tourism can play a role in the course of international communication.
