On July 6th, China's ancient Liangzhu Archaeological Site was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO's World Heritage Committee during its 43rd session in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Thousands of miles away in Liangzhu, Hangzhou, plenty of scholars and technicians were busy preparing for a live show, in which the holistic scene of the five-thousand-year-old Liangzhu Archaeological Site would be displayed to the whole world through CCTV, assisted by 5G service from China Mobile.
To ensure the live show will go on smoothly, the Management Committee of Liangzhu Archaeological Site and China Mobile have jointly implemented the “Double 5 Plan” in the Site —using 5G technology to revitalize the five-thousand-year-old civilization.
In the monitoring center, the staff can observe the current situation of Liangzhu Historical Site Park through huge screens and various monitoring equipment, which are supported by drones connected to 5G signals.
In the No.1 lecture hall of Liangzhu Historical Site Park, you will see a magical mirror. Anyone who stands in front of this mirror and waves his hand will immediately become the Liangzhu King living five thousand years ago. The mirror called 5G+AR Magical Mirror is specially developed by China Mobile of Hangzhou for Liangzhu Archaeological Site, which provides visitors with an immerse experience of Liangzhu civilization.
Thanks to 5G technology, getting touch with the ancient cultural experience has been much easier. There is also a magical machine consisting of a VR helmet, display, robotic arm and writing brush in the No.1 lecture hall. With the help of VR helmet, visitors can manipulate the robotic arm to write words on the paper printed with Liangzhu emblem with the writing brush.
It is known that China Mobile of Hangzhou is working with Liangzhu to promote further in-depth cooperation, and will apply new technologies such as 5G into unmanned sightseeing vehicles, unmanned sweepers and unmanned patrol cars.
In addition, based on the 5G Internet of Things, Liangzhu will continue to introduce various new intelligent monitoring devices to achieve perception and control, including manholes, garbage bins, intelligent street lights, NB smoke-sensors, water dispensers, electrical sensors, environmental sensors, signposts, outdoor screens, and other connected equipment. This equipment will be used for real-time status updating, automatic alarming of abnormalities and automatic distributing of maintenance tasks to achieve high-level management in the park and enhance the effectiveness of cultural relics protection management.
