在意大利普拉托第二轮选举中，意大利民主党两名华裔市议员候选人王小波(Marco Wong)和林诗璇(Teresa Lin)，分别以279和299票当选为普拉托市议会议员。据当地官方媒体称，这是意大利地方首次诞生华人议员，实现了新的历史突破。

In the second round of election of Prato, Italy, two Chinese-Italian candidates of the Democratic Party of Italy, Marco Wong and Teresa Lin, were elected as councilors of Prato with 279 and 299 votes, respectively. According to local official media, this was the first time for Chinese-Italian to be elected as councilors in a region of Italy, which was a historical breakthrough.

王小波祖籍为青田，Teresa·Lin（林诗璇）祖籍为瓯海区丽岙。两人的顺利当选，让当地华侨备受鼓舞。

Marco Wong’s ancestral home was Qingtian County of Zhejiang Province, and the ancestral home of Teresa Lin was Li’ao of Wenzhou, Zhejiang. The smooth election of the two has encouraged local overseas Chinese.

意大利普拉托温州商会会长黄品亮说，意大利普拉托市有“欧洲的温州城”之称，目前有2万多名温州人在普拉托工作生活。王小波和林诗璇参选普拉托市议会议员，受到了许多华人社会和华人社团的广泛关注和支持。

Huang Pinliang, Chairman of the Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce in Prato, Italy, said that Prato is honored as “Wenzhou of Europe”. At present, more than 20,000 Wenzhounese are living and working in Prato. Their election as councilors has won wide attention and support from many Chinese societies and organizations.

浙江新闻：可否介绍下你的家庭情况？

Zhejiang News: Would you introduce your family？

林诗璇：我今年24岁，出生于意大利佛罗伦萨，从小在这里长大。我爸爸叫林其伟，是瓯海丽岙人，目前在意大利从事服装行业。

Lin: I am 24, born in Florence of Italy and have grown up here from my childhood. My dad is Qiwei Lin, from Li’ao Township of Ouhai District, Wenzhou. He is now working in the fashion industry in Italy.

浙江新闻：你的学习经历也跨越了很多国家？

Zhejiang News: Have you studied in many countries?

林诗璇：是的，曾在牛津大学学习，2017年5月，毕业于美国弗吉尼亚商学院金融和会计专业。由于多国的学习经历，我目前也会讲中文、意大利语、英语、法语等多种语言。

Lin: Yes, I have studied in Oxford University. In May 2017, I graduated from the major of finance and accounting at Virginia Business School. Owing to my studying experience in different countries, I now can speak several languages including Chinese, Italian, English and French.

浙江新闻：目前主要从事什么工作？

Zhejiang News: What are you mainly engaged in?

林诗璇：毕业后，在美国KPMG会计事务所工作半年多，现在回到意大利接手家族服装企业。

Lin: After graduation, I have worked with KPMG Accounting Firm for more than half a year. Now I have returned to Italy to take over my family’s apparel business.

浙江新闻：为什么要参选议员？

Why did you run in the election of the councilor?

林诗璇：工作学习中，体验了国家不同的经济、政治、文化，我感觉需要一个意大利的华裔，为意大利的华人华侨发声，我们只有在政治上争取到一席之位，才能够真正的融入意大利的主流社会，才能够真正的发出华夏民族的声音，才能够真正的保障华人华侨的正当权利和地位。我们是龙的传人，也是意大利的公民，我们有责任和义务，为华人华侨发出时代的最强音，这既是为我们当代服务，也是为我们的下一代、下下代打下基础。

Lin: In my work and study, I have experienced the different economy, politics and culture of different countries. I realize that there should be a Chinese descendant in Italy to make the voice of overseas Chinese in Italy heard. Only after we have secured a foothold politically can we really blend into the mainstream society of Italy, truly make a voice for Chinese people and truly safeguard the legitimate rights and status of overseas Chinese. We are Chinese descendants and citizens of Italy. We have the responsibility and obligation to make the strongest voice of the era for overseas Chinese. This will benefit our generation and lay a foundation for future generations.

下一步，我们将联合华人社团、企业，为普拉托当地意大利人提供更多就业岗位，为普拉托经济社会发展多作贡献。同时，推动中文学校办学质量提升，为更多人提供学习中文机会，更好地传播解中国文化，筑牢中意两国友谊民间基础，推进“一带一路”建设。

In the near future, we will work with overseas Chinese enterprises and organizations to provide more jobs to local Italians of Prato and make more contributions to the economic and social development of Prato. Meanwhile, we will improve the schooling quality of Chinese schools, provide more people with a chance to learn Chinese, better spread Chinese culture, solidify the foundation for the friendship between the people of both countries and promote the BRI construction.
