The first rural Yanyouji Capsule Bookstore was unveiled at Qinglongwu of Fuchun River Rural Downshifting Experience Zone, Tonglu County, Zhejiang Province.

Bookstore’s name Yanyouji (Chinese: 言几又) is a split version of the traditional Chinese character “設” from the word “设计” (English: design). It looks like a bookstore from the outside, but is an integration of shop, café and art galleries, virtually.

The delicately designed building was converted from a local village house, covering an area of nearly 300 square meters and can accommodate more than 100 people at the same time.

The bookstore stores over 25,000 books, the topics of which mainly focus on three major themes, i.e. art, design and Tonglu culture.

The book & bed function is another highlight of the bookstore. 20 capsule studies are set up inside. And don’t be surprised to see the “Therapy Room for the Brokenhearted”. It is to soothe blues folks with calming melodies.

As the first rural bookstore launched by the brand, it aims to become a village B&B integrated with the cultural and creative industry.
