As seen in the footage, a Delong X3000 motor tractor was galloping on the road. A guy was running after the truck, pulled open the right door and jumped into the truck. It took him only 56 seconds to finish all these actions.
At about 7 am on May 22, the shocking blockbuster scene was staged on National Highway 322 on Zhonglin Bridge in Daxue Town, Wencheng County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.
The "hero" in the incident is Liu Wenzhong, 42, a villager from Ye'an Village of Wencheng County. The footage went viral on the Internet. Liu is named "Flying Truck Man" by netizens.
In the morning, Liu drove his car and headed out for the workplace. On the way, he saw a heavy motor tractor “running” slowly down the slope. At first, Liu thought the driver might have fallen asleep, so he stepped on the accelerator at once to overtake the truck and kept sounding the horn to wake up the truck driver.
However, the truck did not stop. It collided with the guardrail at the roadside directly...
"I went off my car at once and looked back, only to find a man lying on the ground. My instinct made me realize that something had gone wrong," said Liu.
Liu ran towards the truck as fast as he could and tried to open the door. He ran forward with the truck and pulled the door hard. Finally, the door was opened. He jumped into the driver’s cabin at a bound.
“At that time the dashboard showed that the speed was over 40, and the truck kept accelerating.”
And right ahead of the motor tractor, a pickup truck was approaching. Liu stepped the brake at once and pulled the parking brake. Six seconds later, the truck was finally stopped.
“At that time I was sitting on the driver’s seat and kept stepping on the brake. I popped my head out of the window and shouted at the truck’s driver, asking him to cushion two stones at the rear wheels before I got off the truck.”
Liu recalled, “If I failed to stop it, I was ready to shift to the reverse gear to slow down the truck and steer the truck to crash against the mountain to stop it.”
The truck’s driver Guo Xiaosheng is now in the People’s Hospital of Wencheng County. Guo said he was transporting a truck of stones from Wencheng. When he passed the location where the incident occurred, he felt that the foot brake did not work well. He turned off the engine and shifted to the neutral gear. He cushioned a board under a tire and began to debug the brake.
“When I got under the truck, the truck began to move,” Guo said, after the truck “moved” over his body, he made an attempt to stop it, but he could not move. “Later, the truck vanished from my sight.”
After the traffic police arrived at the site, Guo was sent to the hospital for treatment. Guo is now in a safe condition.
Guo said, “Thanks to Liu Wenzhong for his brave action, otherwise it would have led to a more serious accident.”
