China on Tuesday held a conference in Beijing to highlight the contribution of "model workers" and groups ahead of the International Labor Day, which falls on May 1. A total of 695 individuals and more than 800 groups were honored at the event. Here's an introduction of some honored Zhejiang workers.

Li Jianxing: The super brain in charge of 480,000 motor vehicles

The traffic command center where Li Jianxing works provides services for more than 1,000,000 people and guides the dispatching of 480,000 motor vehicles in the city of Rui'an. On average, every three or four citizens in Rui'an have a motor vehicle; in terms of motor vehicle holding quantity, Rui'an ranks second among the cities at the same level in China.

"Traffic jam" becomes the order of the day for Rui'an people. With unremitting efforts, Li Jianxing has reduced the surveillance video access time to about 6 seconds, and realized the road condition streaming on WeChat, which can present a whole view of 30+plus key road nodes. The technology has been introduced by traffic police departments in other places. To improve the efficiency of traffic guidance, the team led by Li Jianxing created also an "Integrated Intelligent Traffic Control" platform. According to Li Jianxing, his biggest sense of achievement derives from providing the best traffic service for their jam-free driving.

Ye Tuliang: A technician who saved RMB 13 million yuan for his company

Ye Tuliang is the director of the Skill Master Studio of Quzhou Yuanli Metal Product Co., Ltd. and a winner of this year's May 1st Labor Medal. 

Five years ago, under the support of the party committee, government and enterprise, Ye Tuliang set up a skill talent studio, through which he has positively organized skill trainings and successively cultivated 6 senior technicians, 13 technicians, and 78 senior workers for the enterprise. Moreover, he also carried out worker trainings for lathe, bench, and soldering enterprises and helped more than 200 workers become professional talents. 

"My strengths lie in solving part problems in complex processing and enterprises, reducing personnel's work intensity," Ye said that his application of such strengths could make more workers feel proud of their occupation.

Xiang Jianming：A doctor rooted in villages for 20 Years

Xiang Jianming is the vice-president of Chisong Township Central Hospital in Jindong District, Jinhua City, and an expert in the management of chronic illness of the elderly.

Xiang Jianming has imprinted his footprints in every village of Chisong. He would pay visit to people's houses personally, answer their questions about the illness, and popularize healthy ways of diet, exercise and medication. In the file he prepared for each patient, items including disease category, grade evaluation, dates of last and next visits are clearly listed.

With the joint efforts of Xiang and his colleagues, Chisong Township Centeral Hospital has developed from a small health center with only a dozen of workers a decade ago to be a hospital of more than 50 workers that is listed among the first batch of Class A hospitals in Zhejiang Province.

"Many of my classmates work in large provincial-level hospitals. Some of them are now top-notch experts in a certain field. I do not admire them. To be a general medical practitioner in a primary-level hospital is my lifelong pursuit," said Xiang.
