Over 700 years ago, Italian explorer Marco Polo embarked on a journey of exploring the world from Venice. His Travels of Marco Polo is an important work for Westerners to perceive the Eastern world. In 2024, 700 years after the death of Marco Polo, Zhejiang International Communication Center joined hands with Shaanxi Daily - Qunzhong News to launch the Zhejiang and Shaanxi episodes of The New Travels of Marco Polo, using Marco Polo's perspective to explore China in the 21st century. In this episode, scholars from China and Italy will start a dialogue on civilizations.

On our planet,there are two mountain ranges that are thousands of miles apart and have given birth to two major human civilizations.

The Qinling Mountains and the Alps. In the morning glow of the East and the sunset of the West, the two mountain ranges echo each other from afar, telling stories that have lasted for thousands of years.

Today,two scholars from the East and the West gathered in Xi'an, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, starting an appointment of civilization themed on "harmony in diversity".
