Venturing into Taokeng village in Fenghua district, Ningbo, a group of students from Ningbo University embarked on a unique agricultural journey on July 18.

The 20 students are from the university’s Business School, including both local and international students. They joined forces with local farmers to participate in the timeless tradition of rice planting during the busy "double grabbing" season, which involves both early harvests and late sowings.

Under the seasoned tutelage of local farmer Chen Manjun, the students eagerly converged on the rice paddies at the crack of dawn, poised for action.

With Chen's expert guidance, they swiftly assumed their designated roles in the planting process, engaging in a spirited and competitive planting session that underscored the values of teamwork and efficiency.

Collaborative partnerships, such as that between Fellahi Safae from Morocco and teacher Ma Lulu, exemplified seamless coordination, with Safae deftly planting seedlings while Ma ensured a steady supply amidst the muddy field.

Despite the sweltering heat, the students embraced the hands-on agricultural experience as a rewarding and enlightening endeavor. Beyond the physical toil, this immersive engagement provided them with profound insight into the intricacies of traditional farming practices, offering a glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of rural life.

The students also plan to leverage their expertise to support the village's agricultural activities. Through initiatives such as livestreamed events, they aim to promote the village's rice products and contribute to its ongoing vitalization efforts.
