Immersive theater extravaganza unfolds in Jiaxing

The 2024 Nanhu Theater Art Exhibition recently kicked off in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. This year's exhibition is themed "Inheritance and Development." The exhibition features seven major thematic units and dozens of exciting performances, showcasing the diverse charm of theatrical art. On opening day, theater troupes from all over China gathered in Jiaxing's Nanhu district, where their performances received an enthusiastic response.


The exhibition is not only staging classic plays in indoor theaters but also extending performances to streets and scenic spots. Short plays based on Jin Yong's martial arts stories have been attracting a large number of young people and showcasing the renewed vitality of traditional art forms today.


Additionally, the exhibition is hosting a variety of intangible cultural heritage opera performances, including Peking Opera, Pingju, and Huangmei Opera. Coinciding with Children's Day on June 1, a children's opera will also be performed, celebrating the special day with audiences.


The exhibition is not only a celebration for theater enthusiasts but also a perfect blend of culture and life. It is being held at various scenic spots in the Nanhu district, integrating traditional opera with the beautiful scenery of the district and  bringing delightful cultural experiences to audiences and tourists alike.
