On March 13, the "Yiyun Service" agricultural appointment app received a new order placed by a grain grower who needs his rice fields plowed for spring cultivation on March 25, Tide News reported.
The app is developed by the Yiting Town Modern Agricultural Service Center in Yiwu county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province. Starting operations this March, the center offers a full range of agricultural services from seedling cultivation to mechanized plowing, planting, and harvesting, with completely automated rice production.
Lou Guosan, head of Yiwu Jianyuan Rice Professional Cooperative which operates the service center, highlighted the convenience of the system. Farmers can easily place orders through the app, and the center will handle the personnel, equipment, and schedules, ensuring a transparent inflow and outflow of agricultural equipment.
The center has also adopted an innovative management model, calculating the payment according to the land area the machines have worked instead of their working days. "There is a QR code on many machines and we can track it by scanning the code," added Lou.
The center currently has more than 120 units (sets) of agricultural machinery, covering the whole process of plowing, planting, and harvesting, and serving Yiwu and surrounding counties and cities.
The center's commitment to technology-driven solutions, such as real-time data on soil moisture and pest monitoring, is enhancing agricultural practices and promoting sustainable production methods. Future plans include unmanned tractors and planting machines to further improve service capabilities and decrease farmers' production costs.
