The 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships is set to be held in May in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.


The 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships is recognized as the highest-level weightlifting competition in Asia. The event marks the highest-level Olympic sport competition ever held in Quzhou.


A recent meeting in Jiangshan focused on preparations for the championships, scheduled to run from May 6 to 15.

In recent years, Jiangshan has hosted the National Weightlifting Championships for seven times and it made its international debut in 2016 with the China-Japan-Korea Weightlifting Invitational.


During the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2023, Jiangshan also hosted pre-games training camps.


The events have not only enhanced Jiangshan's reputation as a key player in the international sports arena, but also created a distinctive brand for the city in weightlifting events.
