The first Agricultural Culture Festival was held in Changtangxu village in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Dec 15.

The event kicked off with the lively beats of gongs and drums as villagers clad in traditional attire shouldered carrying poles, marching with sturdy strides along the village lanes. Laden with golden corn cobs and grains, the villagers paraded with beaming smiles.

The procession snaked past the village's cultural auditorium and the Agricultural Museum, attracting over a thousand villagers and tourists eager to partake in the authentic harvest celebration.

Eighty-seven round tables encircled the square and pond in front of the auditorium, where villagers and guests savored local delicacies like red-stamped steamed buns.

This is the second year that Changtangxu village, a provincial-level traditional village in Zhejiang with a history of over 900 years, has hosted such a grand event. Last year, the village started rebuilding the ancestral temple and the completion ceremony attracted many visitors, which inspired it to hold the agricultural festival.

"This year, focusing on family culture, food culture, and ancient culture, the event has introduced a long street feast and ancient costume parade to captivate visitors and showcase the village's unity and allure," said Party Secretary Xu Zuoyi.

The festival also boosted footfall at the Agricultural Museum and the Wuju Opera Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum in the village, where attendees can get an enriching cultural experience.
