The 2024 China-Italy Autumn Program at Wenzhou Medical University (WMU), held from Nov18 to 28, enriched participants with cultural immersion, academic learning, and exploration.
Students learned basic life support techniques, observed advanced medical technologies at WMU’s affiliated hospitals, and marveled at the Human Anatomy Museum’s extensive exhibits. Interactions with local students offered unique insights into China’s education system, fostering meaningful cultural exchanges.
Cultural excursions to the Yandang Mountains, Yongjia Academy, and Rui'an’s historic streets showcased China’s heritage. Students also engaged in hands-on experiences like trying traditional Hanfu, deepening their cultural appreciation.

Participants expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality they received, forming deep connections with the people and places. “China and WMU have become a part of me,” shared one Italian student.
Program coordinator Suwas Bhandari highlighted its role in promoting mutual understanding and friendship. Aligning with Chinese and Italian leaders’ vision of strengthening ties through youth exchanges, the program reinforced WMU’s position as a cultural bridge and inspired students to return for future studies.
