The 2024 Ningbo Open, set to take place in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, from Oct 12 to 20, will feature a dazzling array of top-ranked players, including Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen and Grand Slam winners.

The tournament promises to be a thrilling spectacle of tennis, with a total cash prize of nearly $1 million and 500 ranking points for both singles and doubles champions. The Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center will host the event, with the first two days dedicated to qualification matches.

Leading the charge is Zheng Qinwen, the reigning Olympic champion and a force to be reckoned with on the court. Ranked seventh in the world, Zheng will be a strong contender for the Ningbo Open title. Joining her are three Grand Slam champions – Barbora Krejcikova, Jelena Ostapenko, and Emma Raducanu – who will bring their own experience and skills to the court.

The singles draw also boasts other top-ranked players like Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, Emma Navarro, Maria Sakkari, and Diana Shnaider. These players, along with renowned tennis stars like Daria Kasatkina, Anna Kalinskaya, Donna Vekic, and Karolina Muchova, guarantee intense competition throughout the tournament.

The qualification process for the main draw has already begun, with the top 17 ranked players automatically qualifying. An additional spot will be awarded to one player based on their performance in the week leading up to the event, while four wildcard entries and six qualifiers will complete the lineup. The qualification draw is expected to be announced in late September.

With such a formidable roster of players, the 2024 Ningbo Open is shaping up to be a must-watch event for tennis fans around the world. The competition will be fierce, and the excitement will be palpable as the players battle it out for the prestigious title.
