During the 10th Beach Water Polo Match, "Islands connect the world" -- the 2024 Zhoushan Archipelago International Communication Activity occurred on Huaniao Island in Shengsi, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province from July 20 to 21. Many water polo athletes worldwide visited Huaniao Island, participated in intense competitions and immersed themselves in its charm.

"The scenery on the island is surprisingly beautiful," said Angela Watene, General Manager of the Shanghai Hailong Water Polo Team from New Zealand, who has come to Huaniao Island for competitions in the last two years. "I've been to many places, such as Greece and Hungary, but I have a special fondness for this island."

The foreign athletes are warmly welcomed by residents, who actively interact with them, becoming a lively landscape on the island. "People here are very nice and friendly," said Sven Grumbrecht from Germany. "Every time I come here for games, we're blessed with great weather. The sunlight and the fluctuating waves make the competition more challenging, but the excitement after the game is overwhelming. I believe we will come back again."

In recent years, relying on its resources, Huaniao Island has seized opportunities to develop fashion and art, highlighted by romantic themes. Sports events have raised the island's profile and help the development of tourism on Huaniao Island.
