Professor Tong Jianxi, vice-president of the research institute at Glead Electronics, represented Zhejiang province as the sole representative for a meeting of the State Council Information Office of China on May 13.

Founded in 1995, Jiaxing-based Glead has specialized in microwave ceramics for nearly three decades. Their core competencies include precision material formulation and manufacturing process optimization. These capabilities enabled the company to develop over 100 5G base station components within six months, achieving stable mass production.

Tong's personal journey reflects the company's dedication. Since earning his doctorate in 2006, he has spent 18 years developing ceramic materials for 5G networks and consumer electronics. During critical R&D phases, his team conducted over 100 material trials in three months to meet industry leaders' specifications.

The presentation highlighted how specialized enterprises drive China's technological advancement. Glead's components now compete globally, demonstrating the potential of focused, long-term industrial commitment.
