The 2024 Trilateral Entrepreneurs Forum took place in Yiwu, a county-level city of Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Aug 9, attracting over 180 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and business association representatives from China, Japan, and South Korea. The forum focused on practical cooperation in multilateral trade, generating numerous insightful discussions.
Established in 2013, the China-Japan-South Korea Entrepreneurs Forum aims to facilitate economic and trade exchanges among enterprises and business associations.
This year's event was centered on innovation and the sustainable development of e-commerce technology as well as green logistics.
A representative from the China E-commerce Association highlighted the significant potential for cooperation in e-commerce and logistics among the three major economies. He emphasized the strong technological innovation capabilities of China, Japan, and South Korea, suggesting enhanced collaboration in artificial intelligence and big data to reduce cross-border e-commerce trade costs and promote green, low-carbon logistics, thereby boosting competitiveness.
In the first half of this year, Yiwu achieved a cross-border e-commerce transaction volume of 76.28 billion yuan ($10.62 billion), an 18-percent year-on-year increase, and Japan and South Korea are among its most important cross-border e-commerce trading partners.
Participants also discussed cooperation in related industrial and supply chains. The forum showcased nine new China-Japan-South Korea economic and trade cooperation projects.
