Exports of new energy vehicles via Ningbo ports reached an all-time high in April, setting a new benchmark for monthly exports of the commodity through the city this year.
Official statistics from Ningbo Customs reveal that over 7,900 units of NEVs, valued at 1 billion yuan ($138.28 million), were exported during the month, marking year-on-year increases of 79.8 percent and 87.8 percent, respectively.
Brazil and the United Arab Emirates have emerged as prime export destinations for these vehicles, with export values reaching 500 million yuan and 270 million yuan, respectively.
Zhang Peng, a representative of Citic Gongtong International Logistics Co Ltd, emphasized the growing influence of Ningbo's NEV industry, fueled by increased interest among automotive companies in expanding their presence in overseas markets. He mentioned the addition of countries such as Tunisia and Montenegro as new export destinations this year.
The substantial growth in NEV exports can be partially attributed to the proactive support provided by local customs authorities. By offering tailored one-stop clearance solutions for businesses, the export process has been streamlined, ensuring high levels of company satisfaction.
Chen Xue, a spokeswoman at Ningbo Sovel Supply Chain Management Co Ltd, praised the professional guidance and efficient services provided by customs, noting that their support has empowered companies to confidently navigate international regulations and standards discrepancies, facilitating the smooth entry of NEVs into target markets and contributing to the sector's ongoing success.
