On the afternoon of June 18, Zhejiang China Commodities City Group Co., Ltd., and Alibaba Group signed a cooperation agreement to cooperate in the construction of the Yiwu International Trade Public Service Platform (eWTP Public Service Platform), which integrates customs clearance, settlement, taxation, and supply chain services. The platform aims to become China's most digitally integrated free trade zone.
According to the cooperation agreement, the eWTP Yiwu Joint Venture Company will be responsible for the construction of the Yiwu eWTP Public Service Platform. The two sides will depend on an integrated free trade zone to introduce advanced supervision concepts and technologies such as IoT, innovate new modes of digital trade supervision, and provide government services as well as business services.
In the year that eWTP landed in Yiwu, more and more small and medium-sized enterprises in Yiwu began to reach foreign land digitally. According to the data from Alibaba International Station, the online transaction volume of merchants in Yiwu increased by 82% within one year, attracting nearly 3 million active buyers. During the epidemic period, the decline in Yiwu's foreign trade exports narrowed down from January to April, with exports of 31.52 billion yuan per month in May, up 18.6% year-on-year. From January to May, Yiwu's cross-border e-commerce imports and exports totaled 1.12 billion yuan, up 290.3%.
At the signing ceremony, Yiwu Market Development Committee, Commerce Bureau, Chouzhou Commercial Bank, and Alibaba Group jointly launched the "Digital Customs Clearance", "Delivering Goods to the World" and "Digital Foreign Trade Revenue and Expenditure Integration" Project, further strengthening the comprehensive and in-depth development of the cooperation between Yiwu and Alibaba, the two online and offline giants.
