As a key event of 2019 Jiaxing Talents Day, the opening ceremony for Jiaxing Blockchain Technology Research Institute Opening Ceremony was held at Jiaxing Science City in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, April 8, 2019.

The institute is co-initiated by the research team of Whitfield Diffie, a winner of the Turing Award, Jiaxing Municipal People’s Government, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang and Jiaxing Science City.

It is also a remarkable talents introduction achievement made by the Overseas Incubator Project of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang.

In line with the Blockchain Development Strategy of Yangtze River Delta Region, it is designed to offer R&D services, training and technological transfer in fields such as digital cyber security, AI, Internet of things and financial innovation, striving to become a highland of blockchain talents in Yangtze River Delta Region.

The establishment of the institute has set into motion a virtuous cycle of talents introduction and industry development, injecting strong impetus into high-quality development of Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. The arrival of Pro. Diffie will attract more global talents to the area to engage in blockchain and cryptology fields.
